The Fantasy Wrecker – Week 15

fantasywrecker2

Are you still with me? We’re almost to the end of a fantasy football season that’s been filled with crazy ups and downs. I can’t remember a year when so many star players went down, so many high round picks didn’t perform, and so many random receivers scoring touchdowns at unsustainable rates.

If you’re still alive in your league, congratulations. Check out my picks below if you need some advice. If you’ve already lost, look on the bright side. You can watch football like a normal person now. No more biting your nails over that Jaguars-Falcons matchup just because you’re the poor wretch who’s starting Matt Ryan. You can just settle in with some pizza and wings and just enjoy the Steelers fighting for their playoff lives against the Broncos. Sure, you’re not good at fantasy football, but at least you can have a relaxing Sunday now, right? Right? Fine. Grab your calendar and figure out how many days until your next draft.

Let’s get to Week 15:

Three Players Who Will Wreck Your Opponents This Week:

Alex Smith, QB, Kansas City—Smith is probably available in your league, and if you need a quarterback you could do worse. He’s facing the Ravens, who have a putrid secondary, and he’s thrown for five touchdowns in the last three games.

Lamar Miller, RB, Miami—I love this guy, and new offensive coordinator Zac Taylor has set him free. He’s fourth in fantasy points among running backs, and that’s after spending half the season with an OC who hated him. He’s hot right now, so put him in your lineup and let him run.

Doug Baldwin, WR, Seattle—It’s crazy to see Baldwin go on this run, but it keeps happening, so you’ve got to play him if you have him. Especially with Seattle facing the Browns, who have given up the sixth most fantasy points to wide receivers this year.

Three Players Who Will Wreck Your Team This Week:

Eli Manning, QB, New York—Not only is Manning facing a Panthers defense that’s allowed the second fewest points to quarterbacks all season, he’s also incapable of having two good games in a row. He threw for four touchdowns last week. You want to bet your fantasy season on him doing it again? Didn’t think so.

Isaiah Crowell, RB, Cleveland—Crowell had a great game last week, but now he’s facing the always tough Seattle defense, so don’t expect similar results. His quarterback, Johnny Manziel, will probably struggle, too, so I don’t see the Browns possessing the ball for long drives, either. Just not much upside here.

Mike Evans, WR, Tampa Bay—The Rams are tough against wide receivers, having allowed the third fewest points to the position this season. They’ll force Jameis Winston to make quick, rushed decisions, which will probably lead to bad incompletions and a pick. And Vincent Jackson is out, allowing the defense to focus all their attention on Evans. Stay away if you have a better option.

The Guy Who’s Wrecking My Fantasy Season This Week:

Brock Osweiler must not like Emmanuel Sanders. My third round pick has scored a combined zero points in the past two weeks. And it’s all Brock’s fault. The walking collection of injuries that was Peyton Manning was able to get the ball to Sanders. And Osweiler can’t. Okay. That’s fine. It’s fun to hate-watch the Broncos, anyway.
