Welcome to Craig’s Weekly Mailbox Run, where I answer your fantasy football questions and give you the exact advice you need to destroy your opponent, embarrass them for all eternity, and maybe live better in the process.
There were five questions stuffed into the mailbox this morning, so here are your answers.
“What do I do with Jimmy Graham?” – Erica D.
Graham has been a large disappointment this season compared to his production in previous seasons. Many people predicted this happening to some degree but I don’t know if anyone thought it would be this bad. He is only being started because of his name. Seattle is a good organization so they could always turn it around and figure out how to use him more. I just don’t see that happening to a point where Graham’s draft position is justified. He is leading the team in targets already, the issue is that the team only throws 3 passes a game.
You can’t start him, but you can’t drop him. Stash him if you can get away with burning the roster spots but I recommend trading him to help fill another hole on your team.
“Craig, give me some waiver wire pickups or I’m going to rob a convenience store!” – Michael B.
No need to turn to a life of crime, buddy. Here are a few names:
QB: Matthew Stafford – He’s been terrible recently, but he played Arizona, Seattle, and Denver. Stafford throws a ton and is going up against the Bears this week. After that it’s Minnesota who he dropped 19 points on in week 2 and Kansas City who gives up more fantasy points to QBs than any team.
RB: Charles Simms – He has easily at least 13 points in each of the last three weeks in standard PPR leagues along with two touchdowns. Receiving yards are getting him points, but his small usage in the run game is keeping him under the radar.
WR: Ted Ginn Jr. – He is only owned in 33% of ESPN leagues which is kind of crazy. Over 13 points in PPR each of the last three weeks with three touchdowns. He is not getting a ton of catches, but he is getting yards or touchdowns.
“Am I really going to bench Antonio Brown?” – Kendall A.
This is a valid question if Vick is still going to start for the Steelers. He has underperformed with Vick in at QB and has cost some people games. Vick doesn’t seem to target him as much or trust him nearly as much as Big Ben. This coupled with the fact that Vick isn’t a premiere thrower of the football make Brown an interesting player this week. If Vick is in, I don’t have a problem sitting him for LEGITIMATE bench talent. Don’t bench him for a left tackle, but maybe you think Will Snead is going to have a bigger week because of his QB play. Just remember it only takes a couple of targets and a little chemistry for Brown to take over a game.
“What’s the secret to women?” – Austin W.
Well this question is completely unrelated to the subject of this article and is an incredibly dangerous question to answer. So using my best judgement I have decided to answer your question completely.
The secret to a girl’s heart is sarcasm and chocolate*. Now, this won’t sustain a relationship but it will get your foot in the door. That simple.
*Subject to be completely incorrect based on something called “feelings.”
I assume this is the best fantasy information you will read all week, so you’re welcome. Come back next week for more dominance-inducing wisdom, and if you’d like your question answered, send it to ProFootballBeast@gmail.com with “Mailbox Run” in the subject line.
